I receive numerous calls every week from customers who want to raise the lift of their garage doors. Here are some considerations:
You may want a vertical lift system if your garage has at least the door’s height plus 18″ of room above your door’s original height AND…
Remember, 2″ vertical track for 7′ high doors measures 6’4″, or 76″. If you measure a track radius, this is the point where the level goes.

Customers ordering Clopay EZ-SET springs from DDM should be very careful when removing the old spring from the winder.
Below are sequenced pictures of how coins can be used to get the cone off the winder without damaging the plastic clips that hold the cone in place:
Left: Clopay EZ-SET winder with cone
Below: Loosen one side of the cone by carefully inserting a screwdriver and lifting
Next, insert two coins under the cone near the point it was loosened
Then, turn the winder clockwise until the other release point on the cone is accessible
Finally, carefully use a screwdriver to loosen the other release point, now visible
Believe me; you’ll save a lot more than the two pennies by being careful with this!…
