Most installers eyeball or guess at where to install the spring anchor bracket. As a result, I’ve seen many where the center support bracket mounts one or two inches too high. How to Support End Bearing Plates

For shafts to turn properly inside the end bearings, the end bearing plate must remain plumb. An unsupported plate can lean, causing the bearing or shaft to wear.
