It appears that UPS and FedEx no longer want to ship boxes that are over eight feet long. As of January 2018, boxes that are eight feet or longer have surcharges attached to the shipping costs.
The following is an example of the exorbitant surcharges. If UPS ships a 4″ X 4″ box weighing 10 pounds from our zip code to one of our suppliers at 43447, and if the dimension is 96″ long, or eight feet even, the cost is $24.36.

If we increase the length one inch, shipping for the 10-pound box bills at the 90-pound rate of $154.35. This is more than six times the amount, just for the extra inch.

WOW! What an unprecedented opportunity for smart entrepreneurs to step up and cash in on this market niche. Please call us when you get your shipping business up and running!
