About You

You care about people and are quick to help them solve their pressing problems. You’ve always had a knack for understanding how things work. You are able to visualize the mechanical situation that a customer is describing about their door or dock. You’ve proven over the years that you enjoy learning and problem solving. You love a challenge and have the patience to work through hurdles. Consequently, you will make sure that the customer you are serving is satisfied and ready to safely repair or maintain their garage door or dock equipment. As part of caring for customers and co-workers, you are organized and detailed so that nothing falls through the cracks.

About the Position

The Customer Service Representative is responsible for taking care of our customers who need help being successful at safely installing garage door and dock components. They accomplish this by responding to incoming phone calls, emails, and website messaging, in addition to working with customers who show up at the warehouse to purchase or pick up parts. Once in contact with the customer, the Customer Service Representative helps them identify the right parts and then complete the order. In addition, the representative refers them to the online videos that help them safely install the components purchased. With training and experience, this position grows into the role of finding new customers who will make DDM their resource for DIY garage door and B2B dock maintenance and repair parts. All of our Customer Service Representatives work out of our West Chicago office.

For qualified customer service representatives, the starting income is $20.00 to $30.00 per hour.
