Help Removing Torsion Spring Cones

Over the years one of the most frustrating parts of door repairs has been the removal of cones from the ends of torsion springs.

 

The new gif at our “Torsion Spring Cone Replacement” tutorial should help clarify where the stress needs to be. When the end of the spring is properly hooked, only about 10 pounds of pressure is needed to remove the cone from the spring.
