One of the most frustrating parts of garage door repairs is removing cones from the ends of torsion springs.
The new gif at our Torsion Spring Cone Replacement tutorial should help clarify where the pressure needs to be applied. Hook a pipe wrench onto the end of the spring and turn the spring. Then, you will only need about 10 pounds of pressure to remove the cone from the spring.
You can find more information about torsion springs on our YouTube video titled, “How To Replace Garage Door Torsion Springs.”
