As I mentioned in an earlier blog about our kingdom purpose, the Convene business network has been instrumental in helping us identify who we are. This helps us keep in touch with the truly important. We continue to watch as God directs this business through all of us here at DDM Garage Doors and DDM Web Services.
Kingdom Purpose
God has uniquely positioned, gifted, and called DDM Garage Doors to glorify God by exemplifying Christ-likeness in our leadership. This is accomplished by praying for and discipling our employees. We also share the gospel with customers and fund ministries that take the gospel to the ends of the world.
Mission
We help customers find, order, and safely install garage door and dock components.
Vision
If and only as God so chooses**, do-it-yourselfers and maintenance personnel around the world will select us first for our clear instructions and for quality garage door industry parts.
Core Values
God: “Love God with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength.” (Mark 12:30)
People: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” (Mark 12:31)
Perfection: “Be perfect just as Your Father in Heaven is perfect.” (Matthew 5:48)
Stewardship: “The Earth is the Lord’s and all its fullness.” (1 Corinthians 10:26)
Who are we? Explanation of Core Values
God: “Love God with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength.” (Mark 12:30)
Our ability and freedom to live out our core values come solely from God’s grace in Christ Jesus.
“You shall have no other gods before Me.” (Exodus 3:20)
“You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.” (Luke 4:8)
“For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to Whom be glory forever.” (Romans 11:36)
“If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.” (Luke 9:23)
“Present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God.” (Romans 12:1)
“I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.” (Galatians 2:20)
“I die daily.” (1 Corinthians 15:31)
People: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” (Mark 12:31)
“Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.” (John 15:14)
“Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing. “
“Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails. . . . And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.” (1 Corinthians 13:1-8a, 13)
Perfection: “Be perfect just as Your Father in Heaven is perfect.” (Matthew 5:48)
DDM Garage Doors is internationally recognized as an excellent company. This is not because we pursue excellence, but because we value and treasure our perfect Creator.
“As He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, ‘Be holy, for I am holy.'” (1 Peter 1:16) Holy living results in excellent work.
Right living is accomplished only by being born again of God’s Spirit by faith: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:5-16).
It is by abiding in Christ: “Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.” (John 15:4)
And it is by walking in the Spirit: “Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another.” (Galatians 5:16-17)
When sin interrupts right living, we confess our sin. Since God is “faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9)
Only by living transformed lives are we able to follow the golden rule. The rule refers to treating others as we want to be treated. This is the only way we can fairly and ethically conduct business in the global market place.
Stewardship: “The Earth is the Lord’s and all its fullness.” (1 Corinthians 10:26)
God owns everything, and therefore we will all give an account as to who we are.
“For the kingdom of heaven is like a man traveling to a far country, who called his own servants and delivered his goods to them. And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own ability; and immediately he went on a journey. Then he who had received the five talents went and traded with them, and made another five talents. And likewise he who had received two gained two more also. But he who had received one went and dug in the ground, and hid his lord’s money. After a long time the lord of those servants came and settled accounts with them.”
“So he who had received five talents came and brought five other talents, saying, ‘Lord, you delivered to me five talents; look, I have gained five more talents besides them.’ His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’ He also who had received two talents came and said, ‘Lord, you delivered to me two talents; look, I have gained two more talents besides them.’ His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.'”
Lesson in Stewardship
“Then he who had received the one talent came and said, ‘Lord, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you have not sown, and gathering where you have not scattered seed. And I was afraid, and went and hid your talent in the ground. Look, there you have what is yours.'”
“But his lord answered and said to him, ‘You wicked and lazy servant, you knew that I reap where I have not sown, and gather where I have not scattered seed. So you ought to have deposited my money with the bankers, and at my coming I would have received back my own with interest. Therefore take the talent from him, and give it to him who has ten talents.'”
“For to everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have abundance; but from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away.” (Matthew 25:14-29)
**”Come now, you who say, ‘Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit;’ whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. Instead you ought to say, ‘If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that.’ But now you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil.” (James 4:13-16)
Who are we?
We are DDM Garage Doors, uniquely called upon by God to embody Christ’s likeness through our leadership and employees.
Hopefully, this provides a better understanding as to who we are.
