It seems that Wayne Dalton TorqueMaster springs fly off the shelves at our office here at DDM. Amid all the flurry of taking orders, processing, wrapping, and shipping the springs, some common misconceptions regarding the springs arise.
Although Wayne Dalton makes many models and sizes of doors, they do not make TorqueMaster springs based on these doors. Instead, they usually print each door’s weight on the left side of the outer tube. The DDM database takes the width, height, and weight of your specific door, and–like solving a puzzle–it accurately combines left and right spring suggestions, so that your door is properly sprung.
In the absence of the weight or previous springs’ sizes, an analog scale weight is critical.
But like most puzzles, there is some element of the unexpected. Wayne Dalton makes many more right wind than left wind springs. This accounts not only for why your left and right wind springs may not match in specifications but also for why the spring combinations are almost as varied as the doors they spring. When you add the factor that Wayne Dalton changed the TorqueMaster wire type and inside diameter in 2007, it is understandable why your spring selection may seem a bit hard to understand at first.
But not to worry–DDM will put the puzzle together. With unsurpassed technical know-how, we will help you get your TorqueMaster door running smoothly again.
