Chad McLean found his way to DDM through his church community, answering a call to serve both people and work. Hired into a blended role in customer care, technical support, and the warehouse, Chad applied an engineer’s practicality and a servant’s heart to everyday tasks.
Putting faith into practice
Chad’s faith shapes how he approaches work: humbly, carefully, and with concern for neighbors who rely on clear guidance. He improved the safety winders’ performance, standardized high lift and horizontal track kits—cutting assembly time in half—and streamlined fastener use so teams could serve customers more faithfully and efficiently.
Clear instructions, honest service
Reviewing DIY videos and manuals, Chad found steps that assumed tools or skills homeowners might not have. He photographed assemblies, rewrote instructions in plain language, and tested procedures on the floor. His goal was simple: make instructions God-honest and useful so a homeowner could complete a safe repair without special training.
Accountability as stewardship
When orders go wrong, often due to missing or incorrect parts, Chad emphasizes prevention over blame. Accountability, to him, is stewardship: define the expected outcome, teach corrective steps, and adjust processes so mistakes don’t repeat. That practical care helps the team honor customers and one another.
Hands-on faithfulness
Chad used DDM’s DIY instructions himself before joining the company and trusts the same straightforward approach will help others. His work reflects a quiet, faith-driven commitment to doing the small, exacting tasks well so customers get safe, reliable results.
