The garage door torsion spring replacement is dangerous! Therefore, before you start to replace them, make sure that you follow all safety precautions to prevent accidents from occurring. - Measure to make sure you have the right replacement springs.
- Unwind the unbroken spring or springs.
- Then, remove the two center bolts.
- Mark and loosen the set screws on the cable drums.
- Slide the torsion shaft to the left and right to remove the old springs and install the new springs.
- Secure the springs and cable drums, and tighten both cables.
- Finally, wind both springs.
