One of the things I noticed over the years when reading the account of the passion, death, and resurrection of our Lord is how no unbeliever ever saw him after his resurrection. Jesus made special promises to see Peter and the other disciples, but there is no mention of any Roman king, guard, or any of the general Judean public seeing him.
Does that sound fair? After all, who needs to see Him more than someone who doesn’t believe?
Many of Jesus’ detractors, though, saw his miracles every day, yet did not trust him as God’s suffering servant (Isaiah 53). So it would be no surprise that they wouldn’t believe once he “saw the light of life and [was] satisfied” (Isaiah 53:11).
Simply put, Jesus said, “If you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, nothing shall be impossible for you” (Matthew 17:20). The best way to obtain the kind of faith that God commends is to hear the Word of God and think about it until it rings louder and clearer than the bells on Easter morning to you.
Oh, please don’t disbelieve this Easter! Jesus is real–and he wants you with him. Join the first Resurrection and laugh at the second death (Revelation 20:6)!
