Before you replace the garage door cables<\/a> on your door, make sure that you follow all safety precautions to prevent accidents from occurring. For additional information, view our tutorial titled Cable Installation<\/a><\/em>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Secure the garage door in the open position.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Then, unplug the opener power cord.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Remove the cable from the bottom fixture and drum.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Afterward, turn the shaft if the cable is too tight.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Insert the end of the cable and wrap the cable around the drum.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. Connect the bottom loop of the cable to the bottom fixture pin, turning the shaft as needed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  7. Remove the tools that support the door and plug in the power for the opener.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
