Ordering the correct PowerMaster Operators<\/a> can be simple if you begin with the correct details. Here are some tips for how to order one of our hoist operators.<\/p>\n\n\n

Selecting an Operator<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Operator voltage and horsepower<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
    \n
  1. Voltage.<\/strong> These usually are 115, 208-230, and 460 volts. Then, check the voltage on your existing operator or the voltage readily available in the building.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Phase.<\/strong> The 115-volt operators are all single-phase power; the 208-230-volt are either single or three-phase<\/a> power; the 460-volt operators are all three-phase power.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Horsepower.<\/strong> If you are replacing an existing operator, and if that operator worked fine, then you can replace the operator with the same horsepower. If you are installing an operator where there was not one before, you can check our horsepower chart<\/a> to determine the best operator for your application.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Operator dimensions and placement<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    1. Height.<\/strong> You need this to determine the hand chain length. With this intention, measure from the floor to the center of the operator. On standard lift doors, this dimension is usually the same as the door height. However, on vertical lift and high lift doors, the operator mounts higher.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. Shaft Diameter and Key Size.<\/strong> Most sectional doors use one-inch shafts with 1\/4″ keys. However, steel rolling doors use a variety of shaft sizes and key sizes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. Mounting Side.<\/strong> As you look at the door from inside the building, determine the side on which the operator mounts. The drive chain is mounted closer to the door, and the hand chain is mounted further from the door. On sectional doors, you can normally install the operator on either side, but on steel rolling doors, the operator can be installed only on the drive side.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    4. Steel Rolling Door Mounting.<\/strong> If your door rolls up around itself like a window shade, then there are a variety of ways to mount the operator.
