As a result, I&#8217;ve seen many where the center support bracket mounts one or two inches too high. Doors will work for years this way. However, the poor installation may result in the torsion shaft binding or fatiguing and <a href=\"https:\/\/ddmgaragedoors.com\/blog\/2018\/08\/24\/when-the-end-of-a-shaft-breaks\/\">actually breaking<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The most logical time to realign the spring anchor bracket is when <a href=\"https:\/\/ddmgaragedoors.com\/diy-instructions\/replace-garage-door-torsion-springs.php\">replacing the springs<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Proper alignment is also necessary when converting from <a href=\"https:\/\/ddmgaragedoors.com\/springs\/sectional-garage-door-extension-springs.php\">Extension Springs<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/ddmgaragedoors.com\/springs\/ez-set-torsion-springs.php\">EZ Set Springs<\/a>, or <a href=\"https:\/\/ddmgaragedoors.com\/springs\/wayne-dalton-torquemaster-torsion-springs.php\">Torquemaster Springs<\/a> to <a href=\"https:\/\/ddmgaragedoors.com\/springs\/standard-torsion-springs.php\">Standard Torsion Springs<\/a>. The torsion tube should run parallel to the top of the door. Here is the easiest way to accomplish that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first step is to install the <a href=\"https:\/\/ddmgaragedoors.com\/parts\/part\/EBP-338.html\">end bearing plates<\/a> if you are converting from a different spring system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a href=\"https:\/\/ddmgaragedoors.com\/blog\/uploads\/2017\/11\/install-end-bearing-plate.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"196\" src=\"https:\/\/ddmgaragedoors.com\/blog\/uploads\/2017\/11\/install-end-bearing-plate-300x196.jpg\" alt=\"A picture showing an end bearing plate installation.\" class=\"wp-image-2272\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Next, center the bottom of a torpedo level in the center of the end bearing.
