An unsupported plate can lean, causing the bearing or shaft to wear. Often a worn bearing will <a href=\"https:\/\/ddmgaragedoors.com\/blog\/2018\/08\/24\/when-the-end-of-a-shaft-breaks\/\">wear completely through the shaft<\/a>. This causes the shaft and drum to drop and the <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/99-mbUX8mJw\">garage door to no longer be level<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-supporting-flat-end-bearing-plates\">Supporting Flat End Bearing Plates<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Many of the bearing plates are flat, and the horizontal track angle was not strong enough to support the plate, so add an additional angle. Make sure that the flag bracket supports the outside of the end bearing plate. This bracket has an added edge that can secure to the jamb. Therefore, on 12&#8243; radius tracks, the top of the flag bracket supports the bracket. The top hole allows for an optional bolt.
