Training for Every Phase of Garage Door Repair

DDM Garage Doors, Inc. will come to your location and train your maintenance workers to fix your own overhead-type sectional garage doors. Labor rates run $400/hour with a minimum of eight hours, plus travel and lodging expenses. Hands-on training is for a maximum of four workers, but additional personnel may observe the sessions.
Included in the training is a demonstration our new Safe-T-Winder. This tool makes winding big commercial springs much safer.
Here is a sample training schedule:
8:00am-12:00pm - Torsion Spring Replacement on large sectional overhead door, including spring winding and unwinding, counterbalance basics
12:30pm-4:30pm - Cable replacement, cable installation, roller replacement, track repairs, operator fundamentals and adjustments, special tools of the trade, preventive maintenance
Dock Leveler Training
Because of the variety of manufacturers and types of levelers we recommend training on location to address your specific training needs. About 18 manufacturers have produced three primary types of levelers: mechanical, hydraulic and air, along with edge of dock levelers. Before scheduling training we prefer to get information on the models and types of levelers you have. We also recommend a day of training for each type of leveler.
Now Available! Training at our West Chicago facility! Companies with only one or two men to train can now send them to us and save on the cost of garage door training. The cost is $1200.00 per man per minimum eight hour day. If there are two trainees on the same day, the cost is $1000 per man. For three the price is $900 per man, and for four the price is $800 per man. We provide lunch; your company provides travel and lodging.
In addition to seminar and travel costs a primary factor to consider is the difference in training. Training at our facility is broader and more generic; training at a customer's facility is specific to their unique applications. Because of space limitations dock leveler training is not available at our location.
